YouTube Audience Insights Tool Updates
YouTube Audience Insights Tool provides the insight that video creators need to grow their audience and optimize content. For example, the ability to view and compare performance metrics like average watch time and new viewers by geographic region allows creators to better understand viewer preferences, and make more informed decisions about their marketing and production strategies.
YouTube has improved the overall design of their Studio platform to make it more intuitive and user-friendly. One of the most significant updates is the inclusion of detailed audience insights, which can be found in the Audience tab. These new insights allow YouTube creators to understand how viewers find and interact with their videos. They can also see what types of video content their audiences are watching, as well as what device they are using to access videos.
Previously, YouTube audience data was only available on a channel level. Now, it’s available for individual videos as well. Specifically, YouTube audience insights include video views, total reach, average watch time, and new vs. returning viewers. They can also view key moments for audience retention, as well as the percentage of the video that kept their attention.
Another useful metric is the traffic sources report, which shows how viewers found your videos (i.e., from YouTube search, suggested videos, or external websites).
